The terms governing the purchase and use of Glot sentence decks.
Glot ("we", "us", "our") publishes vocabulary decks for the Anki spaced-repetition application at glot.study. For any question about these terms, write to hey@glot.study.
By browsing this site, downloading a deck, or completing a purchase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the decks. We may revise these terms occasionally; the version posted here at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
Each Glot deck is a downloadable .apkg file containing
approximately one thousand sentence cards and the audio embedded in
them. A purchase grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable
licence to use the deck for your own personal language study on any
device you own. You receive free updates to that deck for as long as
we continue to publish it.
You may edit, suspend, fork, or annotate cards inside your own Anki collection. You may not redistribute the deck file, host it for download, resell it, repackage its contents into another product, or share your purchased copy with third parties. The sentences, definitions, ordering, and audio remain our copyright.
Prices are listed in US dollars. Payment is processed by our merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy), who collects any sales tax or VAT due in your jurisdiction and remits it on our behalf. The price displayed at checkout is the price you pay; receipts are emailed automatically.
After successful payment you receive an email containing the download
link to the .apkg file. The link is valid for repeated
downloads. If the email does not arrive within an hour, check your
spam folder, then contact us at
hey@glot.study with the email
address you used at checkout and we will resend it.
We offer a seven-day, no-questions-asked refund. Email hey@glot.study within seven days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. The thirty-card preview on the deck page exists so that you can evaluate the format and audio before buying. After seven days, refunds are at our discretion.
You agree not to:
Material breach of this section terminates your licence and we may decline future sales. We do not, however, scan your private Anki collection.
Glot decks run inside Anki. Anki is published independently and is governed by its own licence and terms. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or otherwise connected to Anki, AnkiWeb, AnkiMobile, AnkiDroid, Refold, or any voice provider whose technology contributes to the audio. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Sentences are drafted with the help of large language models and rendered to audio with text-to-speech, then reviewed by native speakers before release. Despite that review some cards may contain errors, awkward phrasings, or dialect inconsistencies. We treat every reported issue seriously and ship corrections in subsequent editions; please email hey@glot.study with anything you spot.
The decks and the site are provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranty, express or implied, that the decks are error-free, fit for any particular purpose, or that they will produce any specific learning outcome. Language acquisition depends on many factors outside our control.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with your purchase or use of a deck is limited to the amount you paid for that deck. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost time or lost progress in your studies. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law applicable to you.
We collect only what we need to fulfil and support your order: your email address, country (for tax), and the products you bought. We do not run advertising trackers. Full details are in the privacy policy.
Decks evolve. We may add, replace, reorder, or remove cards in subsequent editions to fix errors, improve audio, or sharpen the i+1 ordering. Past editions remain available to existing buyers via their original download link.
Your licence terminates automatically if you breach section 7. On termination you must stop using the deck and delete your copies. The provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive.
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute that cannot be resolved through good-faith correspondence will be brought before the courts of Lisbon, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
